To deeply leverage the cooperation opportunities brought by the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) and assist machinery and equipment enterprises in Foshan Nanhai to expand into overseas markets, the Foshan Nanhai Mechanical Equipment Association successfully hosted the themed seminar "Seizing Opportunities in Vietnam, Connecting the Greater Bay Area: Domestic and International Exhibitions Empower Foshan Machinery Industry's Global Leap Forward" on January 26. The event gathered over 100 participants including government leaders, industry experts, representatives from Vietnamese business associations, renowned exhibition organizations and enterprise executives, focusing on policy interpretation, market analysis and practical strategy sharing to jointly explore market layout approaches in Vietnam and globally, establishing a cross-border cooperation bridge for industrial collaborative globalization. The seminar was hosted by Feng Shangxin, Vice President of the Association.
Li Fengping, Section Chief of the Foreign Trade Section of Nanhai District Bureau of Economic Promotion, first affirmed the Association's initiative, noting that as a manufacturing growth engine in Southeast Asia, Vietnam has become a strategic destination for Nanhai machinery and equipment enterprises' overseas layout, thanks to its booming industrial demand and geographical advantages. Relying on Foshan's "1+1+N" comprehensive service system for enterprise globalization and Nanhai District's full-chain policy support, the government will continue to support the Foshan Nanhai Mechanical Equipment Association in building cross-border docking platforms, promoting the upgrading of "Nanhai Intelligent Manufacturing" from product export to systematic globalization, and accelerating integration into the global industrial and value chains.
Le Hoai Quoc, Vice Chairman of the Vietnam Automation Association and Chairman of the Vietnam Robotics Association, conducted an in-depth analysis of the development status and trends of Vietnam's machinery and equipment, automation equipment, and industrial robot markets. He also introduced Vietnam's industry policies, market demands, and potential cooperation opportunities, providing valuable references for Chinese enterprises entering the Vietnamese market.
In the practical strategy sharing session, Nguyen Thi Thanh Tram, Project Manager of the Vietnam Industrial Manufacturing & Materials Technology Exhibition, elaborated on market channel expansion approaches in Vietnam from the perspective of exhibition participation. Zhou Yong, Southern China Manager of Hangzhou NetEase Technology Co., Ltd., focused on AI technology empowerment, exploring how digital tools can enhance cross-border trade efficiency. Chen Yiqiang, Director of ITES Shenzhen Industrial Exhibition, took exhibition resources as the entry point, providing a full-process guide covering exhibition preparation, merchant connection and brand promotion, offering actionable solutions for enterprise globalization.
The interactive session titled "Practical Q&A on Exporting Chinese Machinery Products to Vietnam" was highly engaging. Le Thi Hong Loan, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City Automation Association and Head of the Southern Office of the Vietnam Machinery Enterprises Association, together with on-site guests, conducted in-depth Q&A and experience sharing on core issues of concern to enterprises such as trade policy compliance, market access standards, localized channel construction and supply chain collaboration, providing solutions to help enterprises address challenges in global expansion.
As a significant initiative of the Foshan Nanhai Mechanical Equipment Association to serve its member enterprises and build international cooperation platforms, this seminar achieved efficient connection of policies, markets, technologies and resources. Moving forward, the Association will continue to play its role as a bridge and link, integrating high-quality domestic and international exhibition resources, industrial policies and market information, and regularly organizing cross-border docking activities. It will assist Nanhai machinery and equipment industry in achieving high-quality development in the global market by leveraging the industrial cluster advantages of the Greater Bay Area, taking technological innovation as the core and collaborative cooperation as the path, thus writing a new chapter of "Nanhai Manufacturing" in globalization.
